last night while out in Denver hangin at the bars on Broadway i spotted a guy i knew i just had to meet. his name was richie and he was probably in his mid 40s. he looked like he stepped right off the set of Grease. i was so intrigued by his 50s look...he had it nailed...greased hair, cig in ear, pack of cigs rolled up in his white t-shirt sleeve, cuffed jeans with shiny shoes. i asked him if this was his daily look or if he did this just for the bar scene....sure enough this was his everyday look. it occurred to me that style really means something different to everyone...but i'll tell you...richie sure had style, he stood out and i loved his dedication to an era he felt so inspired by. the message i got from richie was to not be afraid to be different with my style....even if its a style from decades ago. cheers to the 50s gentleman richie - he bought myself and my girlfriends a drink and drove off in his 50s ford with dice hanging on the rearview mirror and sherry baby blasting on the stereo. if only i would have taken a picture...

a year ago my good friend Katy said she would NEVER wear skinny jeans. look at her now....looking fab katy. i'm a big fan of cropped tops...and the jean jacket tops off this look, which is perfect for a 60 degree march day. (katy refused to look at the camera...cracked me up)

for our fun night out i chose a lightweight dress with sheer sleeves and topped it off with a fur vest i bought at the flea market....ali and i like to call it unicorn fur.

the girl in the pink dress is a mystery, i forget where i found her.

my boyfriend asked me the other night about fashion - is "too much" always better? at first i told him he was crazy, but after looking down at my fuzzy gray sweater, fur vest, studded belt, earrings, rings, and bracelets, i realized he might be onto something. i know it's fun to stack on the accessories but some outfits just don't need all that fuss.

i enjoy looking at photos of vintage beauties on lazy sunday afternoons and finding inspiration for my next outfit. white pleated skirt with a yellow crop top? navy tights with a short skirt and blazer? or maybe a fur hat with light blue skinny jeans and a flowy polka dot top. i am also really liking the heel on those white boots. chunky square heel on a dainty shoe has a classic feel to it. i might have to find a pair for spring. happy lazy sunday....
